Joshua Jonas Nathaniel Turtle Today, the most difficult day in my family’s life, we gather to say farewell to our son. To those of you here and elsewhere who knew Joshua you already are aware of the type of person he was. Joshua was born 9 weeks early at 2lb 9. I was praying in a ward private room at Frimley Park Hospital not knowing if the baby was a boy or girl. I suddenly had a vivid picture of the Lord Jesus Christ smiling at a baby boy. Immediately after this, a nurse knocked at the door and said she was taking my baby boy to the Special Care baby unit! I also had a picture of a seven-foot angel on guard outside his incubator with a large golden sword which another person praying at the same time also had. Joshua grew up fighting many challenges including severe epilepsy, autism, speech delay and a deletion of one of his chromosomes. Yet whenever he entered a room he brought joy, a cheeky grin and a smile in his eyes. He lit up a room. He was simply a miracle each day he lived. Joshua saw the world growing up as we took him to Chennai, India for a wedding and later to Kyiv, Ukraine for stem cell treatment. Joshua also loved watching music videos on You Tube and he could manipulate a computer screen to play his favourites including Take That and Ollie Murs. I have lost count of how many times I watched Dear Darlin and This Could Be from Take That. I fought hard for Joshua, so did Helen, to get him into St Piers School (Young Epilepsy) where he was a weekly boarder since 2015. He was shown so much care and love by all the staff there. Indeed, the Principal has written “ Joshua loved being at St Piers and he made some wonderful friendships with his peers and “ Joshua was simply a lovely young man. “ Joshua’s last 10 days of his life was spent at St Christopher’s Hospice ( Shooting Star ) where he enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and smiling at the staff he loved so much there. I pay tribute to the staff who helped him there. I had two further pictures whilst praying for Joshua. One of the same angel that I saw at his birth telling Joshua “ It is time to go now “ just before his new life journey and the second of him in Heaven with other children, smiling and dancing and singing. I miss you so much son but I know you are now waiting for your mum, Anna, Szolt and I in Heaven, free of suffering and in perfect peace and back in the arms of your loving Saviour.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
